As an adopted child unsure of who or where she came from, Jen Santoro Rotty wanted to learn more about her origins and why others didn't see her as White. The half-Catholic, half-Jewish European ethnicities the adoption documents listed were glossy half-truths that Rotty later discovered were wrong. Very wrong.

Fighting doubt about decision to have kids

Writer Tim Munkeby and his wife Mary have five kids. There were plenty of "what ifs" in the beginning, he says--What if we waited? What if we used contraception? But knowing what he knows now, Munkeby says they would have regretted any decision not to have kids.
