Derick White argues universal background checks are something that should be done--and should have been done a while ago--but there are some fundamental questions people are not asking. How much governmental control are we as Americans willing to accept for the safety of our society? And how much would gun control laws impact or change the way people behave? Or would they simply create a whole new set of problems?
